I never met my love

For a long time I felt like a cigarette

Burning in the snow,

Forgotten on a lonley rooftop

Waiting for the rain.

There is a feeling that you get

When the ice starts to melt

The ember is running low

And you see that the sun never came.

I never met my love

I’ve lost her long ago

She had the desert in her eyes

And a mountain in her soul

I never met my love

But I’ve known that she was there

Waiting for somebody

To show her that would care.

For a long time I felt

like a burning piece of coal

Trying to be different

Always hoping for some more.

There’s a feeling that you get

When you break out of the mine

You see the sun and know

Everything will be fine.

And now and then I think

When it’s night, and the moon’s in pain

It’s easy to be different

It’s so hard to be the same.
